Test the widget

Run end-to-end tests for conversations, realtime, AI replies, handoff, voice, and CSAT.

Widget testing should cover first visitor experience, returning visitor experience, AI flow, human takeover, resolved conversation CSAT, and mobile behavior. Use a private browser window when you need a clean visitor identity.

Chat tests

Steps
  1. 1Open the widget as a new visitor and send a first message.
  2. 2Confirm the new conversation appears in inbox quickly without manual refresh.
  3. 3Reply from inbox and confirm the widget receives it in realtime.
  4. 4Take over from AI and release back to AI. Composer state should change immediately.
  5. 5Resolve the conversation and confirm CSAT appears in the widget.

AI tests

  • Ask a question that exists in Knowledge Base and confirm source-backed answer trust appears in inbox.
  • Ask a question outside Knowledge Base and confirm AI does not invent company-specific details.
  • Ask for a human and confirm handoff works.
  • Ask action-related questions with and without required parameters to confirm AI asks for missing values instead of guessing.
